A heavy 7-gauge lambswool rib for real cold, cut boxy with a drop shoulder

A heavy 7-gauge rib in undyed-feeling lambswool, made for real cold. It is the most textured thing Wrenfield knits, and it wears with a little bite at first — softer with every wash.

100% British lambswool, 7-gauge full-cardigan rib
100% British lambswool, knitted at 7-gauge in a full-cardigan rib in Scotland. Drop shoulder, rib collar, cuffs and hem. No hardware. The yarn is left close to its natural state, which is why it has more texture than our merino.

Questions
The cut is boxy with a drop shoulder. Size down one for a regular fit; keep your usual size if you want it boxy. Because the shoulder drops, it gets snugger through the arms when you size down, which is where some people go back up.
It has some prickle at first. It is lambswool, not merino, and it is the most textured thing we knit. It softens with every wash, and a long-sleeve underneath solves it in the meantime.
It is the warmest thing we knit: a heavy rib made for real cold, and it layers well over a base layer.
Stock on this one runs low. There is no confirmed restock date we can give, and we will not guess one; the Notify me button tells you when it is back.
That is expected. The Crew is regular and true to size; this is boxy. The same person often wears one size smaller here.

Navy · 6'1", usually L, bought M: runs large
I am an L in everything and took the M. Still roomy, and the drop shoulder sits right. In an L I would have been swimming.

They are honest about the prickle. Three washes in, it is much softer. I wear the base layer under it.

Forest · 5'10", usually M, bought M: boxy, as I wanted
Dog walks at single digits with a shell over it. I have not been cold once.

Ecru · 5'9", usually M, bought S: tight in the arm
The body is right in S but the sleeves are tight on my forearms because of the drop shoulder. I should have stayed with M and accepted the boxiness.

Navy · 6'2", usually XL, bought L after an exchange: runs large
Ordered my usual XL, far too big. Started the exchange for L, and the L shipped the day the carrier scanned my return.

It started stiff. It is now the softest heavy sweater I own.

Washing it is a workout. Roll it in a towel like they say. Dried flat in two days.

Ecru · 5'6", usually M, bought S: fit fine, fabric not for me
I gave it three washes and it still bothered my neck. I am sensitive to wool, and the page did warn me. Returned it for credit and bought the Merino Crew, which I can wear.
